U.S. And Western Officials Say Ukraine Has Mishandled The Counteroffensive
New York Times: Ukraine’s Forces and Firepower Are Misallocated, U.S. Officials Say
Ukraine’s grinding counteroffensive is struggling to break through entrenched Russian defenses in large part because it has too many troops, including some of its best combat units, in the wrong places, American and other Western officials say.
The main goal of the counteroffensive is to cut off Russian supply lines in southern Ukraine by severing the so-called land bridge between Russia and the occupied Crimean Peninsula. But instead of focusing on that, Ukrainian commanders have divided troops and firepower roughly equally between the east and the south, the U.S. officials said.
As a result, more Ukrainian forces are near Bakhmut and other cities in the east than are near Melitopol and Zaporizhzhia in the south, both far more strategically significant fronts, officials say.

WNU Editor: I am not buying the above New York Times report blaming Ukraine for the failure of the counteroffensive.
The US and its Western allies are the ones who are propping up the Ukraine Army. They pay the salaries. Provide the equipment and munitions. And more importantly .... providing most if not all of the intelligence that Ukraine uses to plan and launch their attacks.
It looks like some officials in Washington are now trying to wash their hands on this failed counteroffensive, and they are using the New York Times to blame it all on Kyiv.
As I wrote in the previous post. The media narrative is changing. Even pro-Ukraine publications like 1945 are now starting to concede the obvious .... The Hard Truth: Ukraine Has No Realistic Path to Victory Over Russia (1945).
