On a personal note. Music also played a critical role to inspire many of us who were opposed to the Soviet regime in the 1980s. We had our Bob Dylan equivalents, shunned by mainstream media, but adored by many in underground venues and via through the distribution of music tape cassettes. The music did not only give us hope, but it was a tool that was used to find people who also enjoyed the music and who thought like us.
