Thai Air Force plans to set up 12 new training aircraft for the project in the amount of 5,195,000 baht ($ 170,220,000) to replace the secondary propeller training aircraft, Pilatus PC-9 of Switzerland.
Currently, Kamphaengsaen Flight School Thai Air Force has more than 20 PC-9 training aircraft that have been in service since 1991, in which some devices have been discharged. Expect that the new training aircraft will be in shape for about a year 2021.
At the Defense and Security 2019 show, many companies are interested in offering their training aircraft to the Royal Thai Air Force such as the Leonardo M-346 of Italy, KAI KT-1 Republic of Korea, and Embraer EMB 314/A-29 Super Tucano of Brazil.

Including 2 primary fighter pilot training project, cost 2,350,000,000 ($ 80,190,000), which should be a fighter and training project type T-50TH Golden Eagle Phase 3 of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Republic of Korea
In which Thai Air Force has procured operation KAI T-50TH in service at Wing 401, Wing 4 Takhli. When combined with Phase 2 procurement, another 2 aircraft will be 14 aircraft, the current number of aircraft in the attack squadron.
