The first batch of UH-1H helicopter spare parts provided by Japan has arrived in the country, MaxDefense Philippines, citing information from sources, said in a post in its social networking page.

The Japanese and Philippine government held the exchange of notes for the said transfer on November 7, 2018 at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. and Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines Koji Haneda facilitated the exchange of notes.

The UH-1H helicopter spare part will be transferred from Japan Ground Self Defense Force to the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

“The Philippines will find these parts and equipment most useful as the Philippine Air Force deploy UH-1H helicopter to conduct activities relating to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, transport, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance,” the Japanese Embassy said in November 2018.
