The senator, who serves as the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, called a New York Times report that the FBI launched an inquiry into whether Trump was working for Russia after the president fired former bureau chief James Comey "astonishing," but cast skepticism on its findings.

WNU Editor: This will be interesting. Congress does need to know if this happened. And if it did happen, Congress will need to know what was their evidence, and what kinds of checks and balances are there to insure that it is a counterintelligence investigation and not one that is motivated by politics. As to what is my take. My gut tells me this New York times report is true, and that those who pushed for it have now been fired, resigned, demoted, and/or under investigation.
