DSME Hands Over HTMS Tachin Frigate to Royal Thai Navy

On 14 December 2018, the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) held a ceremony to receive the high-performance frigate at the Okpo-Dong Shipyard, DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd.) in Busan, South Korea.
There are senior officers and the Thai Navy. New Frigate Ship DSME officer and security industry of the Republic of Korea And the Thai party. It's understandable HMS Tachin (III) is scheduled to depart South Korea from Thailand in the next month.
The Royal Thai Navy has signed the first high-performance frigate agreement, HTMS Tachin (III) from DSME Korea in August. 2013 amounted to approximately 14,997 million Baht ($ 396 million) as approved by the Cabinet.
High Performance Frigate HTMS Tachin (III) was launched on 23 January 2017 at the DSME shipyard, with Admiral Aree Nani - former Navy commander - at that time, the president of the ceremony.
The Tachin class (DW3000H) of DSME South Korea was developed from the Gwanggaeto the Great (KDX-I) class destroyer based in the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). HTMS Tachin has been equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and modern naval weapons.

HTMS Tachin has a maximum water displacement of 3,700 tons, a maximum speed of 30 knots, an operating range of approximately 4,000 nmi, 136 crew members, a hull designed using stealth technology, Installation of combat systems and weapons systems from Europe and the United States.
The ship is equipped with 1X Oto Melara 76/62 cannon stealth types, 2X six-barrel cannon Raytheon Phalanx 20mm CIWS, 2X four anti-surface missile Boeing RGM-84L Harpoon Block II, 2X triple torpedo tubes launcher SEA (Systems Engineering & Assessment Ltd) for lightweight torpedo Mk54 Mod 0 Dimensions 324mm, eight Raytheon RIM-162 ESSM missile launchers, also Saab Sea Giraffe 4A AESA Surveillance Radar, Saab Sea Giraffe Combat Radar, and the Saab 9LV Mk4.
DSME South Korea is also expected to sign a contract for the second HTMS Tachin frigate from the Royal Thai Navy. This contract includeTransfer of Technology to Mahidol Adulyadej Naval Dockyard which will build second high performace frigate in Thailand, may be named as HTMS Prasae (III) or HTMS Mae Klong (II) one of the them
