$769M JCETII task order goes to Allion

Alion Science and Technology has booked a potential five-year, $769 million task order to integrate systems and subsystems for the U.S. military’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and cyber platforms.

Integration work will focus on operations for remote sensing, data collection, analysis, distribution, operations and assessments. Alion said Tuesday it will also carry out research in communications, cyber operations and security.

The General Services Administration’s FEDSIM acquisition center awarded the order against the OASIS professional services vehicle. GSA received one other bid for the Joint Capability Embedded Technology Insertion and Integration order, according to Federal Procurement Data Spending information.

In a release, Alion CEO Steve Schorer said the win moves the company “to the forefront as a large systems integrator” and positions it to also offer artificial intelligence and machine learning tools.

Alion crossed the $1 billion-revenue mark in August when it acquired MacAulay-Brown and added electronic warfare and AI services as well.

Through JCETII, the military is seeking to take in new technologies to support observation, visualization and collaboration among its forces.

Alion will also integrate, test and evaluate system-on-chip and other emerging embedded technologies for eventual use on systems for ISR, cybersecurity, communications and information assurance functions.
