The 99th Air Traffic Management (ATM) & Air Laws (Basic) course was culminated yesterday evening at Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal near Hyderabad. A valedictory Guest night was conducted for the Graduating Trainee officers on the occasion at Officers’ Mess. Air Marshal Amit Tiwari, Commandant, AFA, graced the occasion as the Reviewing Officer. The graduating Officers shall soon be shouldering the crucial responsibilities as Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) at various military airfields.

was adjudged First in Overall Order of Merit in the course and Flying officer Ankita Choudhry adjudged the Most Promising Trainee.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Marshal Amit Tiwari, Commandant, Air Force Academy highlighted the criticality of Air Traffic Controllers’ role in the mission accomplishment of Indian Air Force. He opined that the training imparted at Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment will help the graduating officers to obtain their Air Traffic Controller ratings at the earliest thereby enhancing the Operational capability of the service. He told the graduating trainees about future dynamic challenges and advised them to follow the path of absolute integrity and selfless dedication to achieve professional excellence and actively contribute towards the organisational goals of Indian Air Force.
Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment (ATCOTE), is a premier training establishment of the Indian Air Force (IAF) located within the Air Force Academy Dundigal that undertakes training of ‘Air Traffic Services’ Officers from the IAF, Indian Army (IA), Indian Navy (IN), Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), as well as Officers from the Armed Forces of various Friendly Foreign Countries. ATM & Air Laws (Basic) course is a six month long rigorous training programme aimed at Ab-initio training of Air Traffic Controller officers covering Surface movement, Aerodrome and Approach Control Functions, at Military and joint user airfields.

IAF Jaguar Incident
On 08th Jun 2018, at around 0930 hrs at Air Force Station Jamnagar an incident involving a Jaguar aircraft happened while on the landing roll. Aircraft sustained minor damages with no injuries to the pilot after he ejected safely. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the incident.
