New York Times: Trump’s Son Met With Russian Lawyer After Being Promised Damaging Information on Clinton
President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.
The meeting was also attended by the president’s campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Manafort and Mr. Kushner recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.
The Times reported the existence of the meeting on Saturday. But in subsequent interviews, the advisers and others revealed the motivation behind it.

He does not know who this contact exactly is until he meets her with Jared Kushner and campaign manager Paul Manafort .... learns that she is a Russian lawyer (Natalia Veselnitskaya) .... she does not provide any information but wants to talk about adoptions and U.S. laws sanctioning Russian officials. With the realisation that she does not have any damaging information ..... the meeting ends quickly after that and no future contacts are made. The New York Times is now claiming that this is a big scoop because it represents the most direct suggestion to date of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and it is the first indication that someone from President Trump's inner circle met with a Kremlin-connected Russian during the campaign. This is their case for collusion?!?!?!? Talk about making a very thin case for collusion .... or any impropriety for that matter. But it is not stopping those who strongly oppose President Trump .... Legal experts divided on whether Donald Trump Jr. broke the law with Kremlin lawyer meeting (NYDaily News), or even some now saying that Donald Trump Jr. should be charged for treason. My prediction .... unless the New York Times is keeping something back that is more substantial, this story is going to become this .... The Times ‘exposé’ on Donald Trump Jr. is a big yawn (Michael Walsh, NYPost).
