New York Times: Trump Appears Unlikely to Hinder Comey’s Testimony About Russia Inquiry
WASHINGTON — President Trump does not plan to invoke executive privilege to try to prevent James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, from providing potentially damaging testimony to Congress on statements the president made about an investigation into his former national security adviser, two senior administration officials said Friday.
Mr. Trump could still move to block the testimony next week, given his history of changing his mind at the last minute about major decisions. But legal experts have said that Mr. Trump has a weak case to invoke executive privilege because he has publicly addressed his conversations with Mr. Comey, and any such move could carry serious political risks.

Update: Trump not planning to invoke executive privilege for Comey testimony: NY Times (Reuters)
WNU Editor: There is precedent for this .... Nixon did it during Watergate, and President Obama invoked executive privilege on the Fast and Furious case (a case that involved the U.S. supplying weapons to Mexican cartels). Will President Trump do the same thing? Considering how vocal he has been that he has nothing to hide .... I can only assume no .... but he is also known to change his mind. As to what do I expect from former former FBI Director Comey when he gives his testimony next weeek. The committee will be wanting to know if President Trump told him to stop his investigations of his officials .... but he has already answered that question in the past where he said (under oath) that no such thing happened. Will he change his testimony to fit the narrative that many in the media are hoping he will do .... I doubt it. What I do expect him to do is elaborate on are the reasons why he pursued his investigations .... and maybe give some extra details there. But in the end .... with all the big expectations that have been building since his firing .... I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed.
