College Of Defence Management Organised Yoga Session
Aligned to the thought process of bringing greater awareness about the benefits of Yoga, the College of Defence Management (CDM) organised a yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day in Secunderabad today. The Yoga session was attended by officers & ladies of Army, Air Force & Navy. Dr N Ganesh Rao, a renowned professor of Yoga and Indian philosophy, addressed the strength of two hundred officers and he spoke about therapeutic and spiritual benefits of Yoga. He stated that the declaration of 21st June as International Yoga Day has enabled India to reclaim the origin of the spiritual practice. The Commandant CDM, urged the participants to adopt this 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice towards a healthier body & mind.
Indian Army's Dakshin Bharat Area Celebrates Yoga
The third edition of the International Yoga Day was held on 21st June 2017 at the Palm Grove Environmental Centre and was celebrated by all service personnel of Dakshin Bharat Area. Speaking
on the occasion Lt Gen RK Anand, General Commanding Officer, Dakshin Bharat Area said that through the Yoga Day, intended that the ancient Indian heritage of Yoga could be imbibed to accommodate a comprehensive disciple of physical, mental and spiritual practice in to our lives. A total of approximate 500 persons participated in the event and made it a grand success.

The 3rd International Yoga Day was celebrated at Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a PSU under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India in Hyderabad today. A lecture followed by a demonstration of ‘asanaas’ were presented by Shri Raja Rao Adsumilli, Yoga guru and in-charge Datta Kriya Yoga International (AP & TS). Shri S. Piramanayagam, Director (Finance) and Dr. N.K. Raju, Executive Director (P&A) along with the employees of the Company participated in the celebrations.
Indian Navy's Western Naval Command Celebrates Yoga on Flight Deck Of Ex-INS Viraat
International Day of Yoga 2017 (IDY 17) was celebrated with enthusiasm by all armed forces units, personnel and families at Mumbai. The flight deck of Ex-Viraat provides the perfect location for Yoga camp for personnel of the Western Naval Command (WNC).
Yoga camp / Seminar/ Workshop was conducted by certified instructors from Patanjali Yog Samiti, Home Yogi’s Home and Art of Living at South Mumbai at nine places. In addition, Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, WNC joined the personnel of the Command at Yoga camp held onboard Ex-Viraat. A total of over 10000 personnel took part in Yoga camps organised by Western Naval Command, at various places includng Karwar, Goa and units based at Gujarat and Naval Station Karanja.

A large practice cum demonstration of Yoga was led by Smt Meena Bhokare, President, Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), Ezhimala a Yoga therapist herself, to commemorate the 3rd International Yoga Day 2017 organized by INS Zamorin on Wednesday, 21 June 2017. Service personnel and defence civilians from Indian Naval Academy (INA), INS Zamorin and INHS Navjivani and their family members participated in large numbers and performed various asanas, pranyam and meditation as part of this mega event.
Indian Navy celebrates International Yoga Day 2017 at Delhi Area
21 June 2017 was celebrated as International Yoga Day by Officers and Staff of Directorate of Quality Assurance (Navy) with Isha Foundation by having a game session of 1 hr followed by lecture on benefits of yoga and 1 and half hour of Yoga Practice.
