This day is celebrated worldwide, including at National & State Level, where in the efforts & contributions of active motivators & Blood Donors are recognized at respective formal functions.

On 16 Jun 2017, Indian Red Cross Society of both Telangana State (TS) & Andhra Pradesh (AP) chapters jointly organized the Award function at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad in which Hon’ble Governor ESL Narasimhan, who is also the President of both chapters of TS & AP of the Indian Red Cross Society, presented the award to most deserving & very active Volunteers, who have been regularly coordinating, organizing & motivating in

Voluntary Blood Donation Camps, besides to active & regular Blood Donors.

From the Military Station Secunderabad & Hyderabad, both Colonel Sunil Uniyal (of PMO SURAJ Hyderabad Group) and Mrs Kiran Uniyal, were presented with Governor’s Award for being active Voluntary Coordinators, Motivators & regular Blood Donors, who have together worked proactively with various agencies of Military-Civil in Secunderabad/Hyderabad in organizing nine major Blood Donation Camps in April 2016 & March 2017 and helping in collection of Highest number of 3,704 Blood Units. Since April 2015 till Mar 2017, they both have coordinated in organizing 12 Voluntary Blood Donation Camps in Military Station Secunderabad/Hyderabad alone, with again a record collection of 4,780 Blood Units.

       

Both the couples have earlier achieved Two World Records, viz, High Range Book of World Record (India-US) and Marvelous World Book Records (India-NZ) for coordinating & organizing a “Largest Voluntary Blood Donation & Awareness Camp on the occasion of Indian Army Day 2017” with a record collection of 2,795 Blood Units.

         

During the above function, other Military officers/ establishments, viz Brigadier Ajay Malik, Commandant 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad was presented with Governor’s award for conducting two major Blood donation camps & contributing 977 Blood Units, whereas Brigadier Rohit Butalia, Commandant Artillery Centre, Golconda, Hyderabad was presented the Governor’s award for conducting a Largest Blood Donation Camp on a single day, wherein 1,417 Blood Units were collected.

       

Indian Red Cross Society TS Chapter Honorary Chairman, Shri BV Papa Rao and AP Chapter Honorary Chairperson, Smt Rachel Chatterjee and other senior officials participated in the award function.
