WNU Editor: President Trump did not win the U.S. Presidential election on a policy of using the military to intervene in other countries. He won on a policy of America first. Economic nationalism. Better trade deals. Controlling the border. And definitely not being the World's policeman. And I am just cringing seeing the same people who pushed for the Iraq war now saying that we should escalate our military intervention in a place like Syria. And what is even more worrisome to me .... many of these former Bush supporters and neocons are now in the national security and defense establishment of the Trump administration .... and that those who would voice their opposition to such an intervention .... even with all of their faults like Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon .... are now out.

I understand that the world is a terrible place, ruled by tyrants who use brutal tactics to suppress their people. But if the Trump administration should decide to expand and escalate their military involvement against the Syrian regime and their Russian/Iranian backers .... President Trump better get all of America's allies together to tangibly and substantially support such an intervention in a very meaningful way. Because going alone .... especially against the Syrian/Russian/Iranian axis .... is only going to guarantee a no-win war with a real potential of it escalating into something far worse.
