US VP Pence will meet with separately PMs of Iraq and Turkey in Munich
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The US vice-president is expected to meet the prime ministers of Iraq and Turkey separately on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference to discuss recent dynamics in the Middle East, including the fight against ISIS in Iraq and a no-fly zone in Syria.
Mike Pence, who will attend the second day of the Munich Security Conference, will hold a series of meetings with world leaders, including Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, to reportedly discuss the latest developments in the fight against ISIS on the ground in Mosul. The operation to oust ISIS from west Mosul is expected to begin any day.
Pence will also meet Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and Hakan Fidan, Turkish Intelligence Agency adviser. They are expected to discuss a no-fly safe zone in northern Syria and the looming battle for Raqqa.
On his first official overseas visit as US vice president, Pence will also give a speech addressing the new US administration's ties with Europe.

The Munich Security Conference began on Friday evening with presidents of 30 countries, 80 ministers and as many as 500 high-ranking delegates across the world in attendance. It will wrap up until Sunday evening.
The president of the Kurdistan Region is also in Munich with an accompanying delegation.
On Friday Masoud Barzani and US Secretary of Defense James Mattis held an hour-long meeting. This was the first such meeting between top Kurdish and US officials since the new administration took office in the White House.
